Sailing - Welcome to the Ranelagh Yacht Squadron

Our Ranelagh Yacht Squadron welcomes aspiring sailors, kayakers, paddle boarders, swimmers, dolphin spotters, snorkelers, windsurfers, fishermen, safety boat drivers and beach lovers of all ages.

Whether you've sailed all your life, or have never been on a boat, you're welcome to join us at Ranelagh Beach for sailing courses and social activities.

During summer, the squadron hosts accredited sailing courses for children from ages 8-16 years.  These popular courses develop leadership skills and confidence on the water.

The squadron paricipates in sailing regattas with other local clubs over summer and the sailors embark on a very popular long weekend sailing camp every year.

If you are interested in Sailing Courses for any level of experience - please contact the office on 9787 0265 #1.

We’re a family-focussed sailing club open to any Ranelagh Club member who likes the idea of enjoying the wonderful Port Phillip Bay on a wind or human powered vehicle.  Plus we encourage any kayakers, windsurfers and kite-surfers to come down as well. The more, the merrier!

Ranelagh Club Appoints our first Sailing Co-ordinator

Meaghan Densley Commencing October 2017

Sailing has been a key part of the club for many years, being one of the original 11 sports and activities at the club and the board is committed to ensure that sailing remains a sustainable activity at Ranelagh.  For the first time, Ranelagh is appointing a dedicated sailing coordinator to promote, manage and enhance our sailing activities and events.

We are very excited to announce that Meaghan Densley is joining the Ranelagh Team. Those of you who mix in local sailing circles will already know Meaghan.  She is currently the Commodore of Frankston Yacht Club and has also been on the club's Executive team.  Meaghan is a Senior Instructor for Australian Sailing as well as a qualified race instructor.

In Meaghan's professional life she is a Sports Community Consultant helping clubs become "sustainably successful".  She has worked as a General Manager for a Melbourne Golf Club and the Sailing Manager at Blairgowrie Yacht Club.

Meaghan will be working part time at the Ranelagh club and will commence her role in early October.  However, we will be running a sailing information evening in September when you will have an opportunity to meet Meaghan and hear more about the sailing events we plan to run next season.  You will also be able to register your interest to become involved in sailing @ Ranelagh.  More information about the Sailing Information evening will follow soon.

2017/18 is going to be a great season and we look forward to seeing you at the Club.
